Not sure to be honest about the exact closest location, but I would try the attached link which is all about a company who builds vertical wind tunnels.
I think the closest one is in Tennessee, last time I checked. I went to SkyAdventures in New Hampshire a few years ago. I know live in Atlanta. You can go skydiving in Atlanta, but there are no vertical windtunnels open to the public in the Atlanta area to do indoor skydiving. Looks like there is one in Pidgeon Forge, TN, in Waynesville, NC and Raeford, NC.
